If you’ve been following along on Digg Mama, you’ll know I’ve recently started working with the amazing team at Mash Direct, and honestly, their summer sides range has sent my Digg Community into a spin! You all know I love sharing easy, tasty ideas and lately, it’s all about Mash Direct recipes.

One of my brilliant followers, Laura Mark, shared her family’s favourite way to enjoy a fakeaway at home and it’s gone down a storm! Anytime they’re ordering a Chinese, Laura’s family insists she makes her now famous Salt & Chilli Chips on the side using Mash Direct Beer Battered Chips.

Poor Laura can’t even get a night off cooking, but she doesn’t mind one bit.

“My family all think they are the best, no comparison to any from a takeaway. So quick and simple too!”

Of course, I had to get the full recipe for you! Here’s how Laura makes her delicious, crispy Salt & Chilli Chips at home.

Salt & Chilli Chips Recipe (With Mash Direct Beer Battered Chips)

Ingredients:

  • Mash Direct Beer Battered Chips

  • 1 onion (sliced)

  • 1 pepper (sliced)

  • 1 clove of garlic (chopped)

  • Salt & Chilli seasoning (any shop-bought mix will do)

  • 1 spring onion (chopped)

Method:

  1. Pop your Mash Direct Beer Battered Chips into the air fryer at 200°C for 8 minutes.

  2. After 8 minutes, add your sliced onion, peppers, garlic, and a generous sprinkle of Salt & Chilli seasoning.

  3. Give it all a good shake and return to the air fryer for another 8 minutes.

  4. Finish with a handful of spring onion, shake again and cook for a final 2 minutes on max crisp for extra crunch.

And there you have it! Perfectly crispy, golden Salt & Chilli Chips packed with flavour and ready in under 20 minutes.
